In addition to equipment support, Lyon Espresso offers training sessions for a variety of coffee skills and brewing methods. There is no experience necessary and no requirements for any educational opportunities. No matter who you are - cafe worker, coffee nerd, or home barista - there is something for everyone!

Espresso Deep Dive
Coffee nerds assemble! After taking this course, you will learn the ins and outs of what makes a quality shot of espresso. We will be talking about grinders, coffee origins, water purification, extraction, and of course - tasting! Whether you are brewing at home or in a cafe, this class will give you all the tools you need to brew an excellent shot (or fix a bad one!)
Barista Basics
Looking for better drink consistency and quality? Gather your barista team and learn the essentials to a great cup of coffee. We will cover the basics of filter coffee, steaming milk, and latte art. We will also discuss daily cafe routines like equipment cleaning, espresso dialing and coffee tasting.
Filter Coffee Deep Dive
No espresso machines in this class (and no cream allowed!) Come learn the science behind different filter coffee brewing methods including pour over, immersion, pressure, and cold brew. No matter your roast preferences or brew recipe, you will walk away with a new appreciation for the coffee in your cup.
Latte Art & Drink Builds
Once you’ve laid a foundation of brewing good coffee, steaming great milk is arguably as, if not more important. Learn the chemistry behind steaming milk and techniques necessary to pour latte art designs. You will also learn the history and traditional recipes for common espresso and milk drinks.
Coffee Shop 101
Gain helpful insight on how to start your own coffee shop, or optimize your current one. We will be drafting business plans, designing menus, and discussing additional steps and considerations in order to bring about your vision for your shop.
